Resolve a UniProt accession

Use the UniProt lookup endpoint when you know a UniProtKB accession or entry name and need the corresponding sequence and Atlas identifier.

Verify the resolved identity

Confirm that the returned identity matches the protein you intended to resolve before chaining the sequence or hash into another request.

Choose the next Atlas request

Use protein_hash with the protein endpoint to retrieve a stored Atlas record. Use sequence with the similarity-search endpoint to find proteins with related SAE feature profiles.

The endpoint accepts UniProtKB accessions and entry names. UniParc, MGnify, IMG, PDB, and Ensembl identifiers are not supported by this endpoint. See the UniProt lookup reference for exact error behavior.
